Meet the Davidson Class of 2022!

Our largest-ever applicant pool (5,712 students) advanced via our lowest-ever admit rate (19.3%) + our highest-ever yield rate (46.8%) to become the Class of 2022 -- 516 first year students from 438 high schools in 36 states, 23 countries, and the District of Columbia. Their Profile looks like this.

And in that class, you'll find:

51.1 % receiving need-based financial aid via The Davidson Trust
52 visual and performing artists
147 NCAA DI athletes in 21 sports

New Self-Reporting Scores Policy

Please note that beginning this year, consistent with the college's long-standing commitment to access and affordability, we accept self-reported test scores. Only those applicants who are admitted and enroll are required to submit official score reports.

Open House Programs

A Day @ Davidson

Open to high school juniors and seniors, prospective students and their families are invited to spend part of the day on campus getting to know the college better through an exploration of the Davidson experience. September 28 or November 2.

Discover Davidson

High school seniors and their families/mentors are invited to attend Discover Davidson on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, to experience the unique qualities that create the Davidson experience.

Access Davidson

Davidson will host its annual Access Davidson program October 14-16, 2018 (formerly the MVP- Multicultural Visit Program). Access Davidson offers seniors from traditionally under-represented groups or those that may not have other access to campus a chance to get to know Davidson. Access Davidson application.

Honor Code Signing Day

"When students sign the Honor Code, they have a sense of the kind of community that we are creating together, that this is not something placed on them, that this is theirs. They are building this culture," said Davidson College President Carol E. Quillen. "Their leadership, commitment and creativity make it what it is. Our students feel responsibility for the honor code and the distinctive community it nurtures in a way that makes them partners in the educational environment we seek to create."

Cake Race!

Established in 1930, what was once a mandatory trial-by-fire for the incoming class lives on today as a celebration for first-year students and the Town of Davidson alike. The race has since become a Davidson trademark and a (voluntary!) part of the first-year experience, with members of the Davidson community faithfully donating the cakes every year and cheering on the racers.
