Preparing For Your Visit
Do Your Research
To make the most of your visit, explore the college's website and prepare questions before visiting, especially when it comes to academic interests or extracurriculars you're interested in pursuing. Even general questions can give you a better sense of the community you are visiting.
Personalize Your Tour
If you have an interest in specific parts of college life, going on a tour is definitely the time to see how your interests can align with aspects of the college campus that you're touring. Ask questions! If the tour guide doesn't know the answers, ask them to direct you to someone who does.
Weather
Tucked between the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina and the picturesque Carolina coastline, Davidson is fortunate to experience all four seasons. With winters cold enough to catch an occasional flurry but mild enough to enjoy the outdoors, and spring and fall seasons that shower our campus in vivid foliage, there's no bad time to experience campus.
Explore Our Town
Steps away from campus is Davidson's Main Street, featuring many local businesses and restaurants. Stop in at the college bookstore, grab a bite to eat, and soak up the small-town atmosphere.
Experience Our Community
Main Street is always buzzing with both students and locals, especially on the weekends. On Saturday mornings, there is a local Farmer's Market that has fresh produce, hand-picked bouquets of flowers, and some of the best homemade donuts you will ever taste.
Represent Your Wildcat Pride
On your walk through downtown Davidson, be sure to stop by the Davidson College Store, the college's official bookstore and merchandise provider, to pick up your Wildcat gear and explore where students purchase their books.

You don’t need to bring anything special, but we recommend comfortable shoes for the campus tour and a water bottle. We have a water bottle refill station.
Can I bring my parents or a friend?
Yes! Guests are welcome to join you for the information session and tour.

Meet Our Community
Liz A.
Computer Science | Mathematics
"I have many professors who have taken hours out of their day to help me with academic and personal struggles – and most of my friends at Davidson have similar experiences. I am so grateful for the unique, life-giving community that Davidson has to offer, and I know that I will carry it with me to every new stage of my life."
Prince A.
Biology | Pre-Med
"Davidson gave me experiences I never imagined. As a pre-med student, I thought studying abroad wouldn’t be possible, yet Davidson’s grants and resources made it happen. I traveled to two European countries for nearly a month each, fully funded. Davidson even covered my trip home after six years."
Daniel P.
Political Science
"When I think of Davidson, one of the first things I think about is the people. No matter where you walk on campus, you can almost always count on seeing someone you know. Davidson is made up of so many supportive, caring, smart, and driven people, from its current students to alumni, and from its faculty to staff. I am lucky to have developed so many lifelong friendships here."
Arielle G.
Africana Studies | Pre-Med
"Davidson’s grants have allowed me to pursue experiential learning — interning at Vanderbilt’s Maternal and Infant Health Outreach Worker Program, working in maternal health, and growing as a researcher and advocate."

Economics | Data Science
"Davidson has become my home – a place that has challenged and nurtured me in equal measure. I’ve been pushed academically, encouraged socially, and guided personally, all while knowing there’s an unwavering safety net of professors, coaches, and friends ready to catch me if I stumble."
Citlali F.
Anthropology
"Davidson has shown me the power of community — people who see you fully and push you to grow. I’ve found that in late-night conversations on campus, in the student-led cultural events and in classrooms where professors encouraged me to turn curiosity into research that matters."
Annalee S.
Politics, Philosophy, Economics
"I have gained so much from this place and from classmates and professors alike who go above and beyond for me, knowing nothing about me except that I am a Davidson student. The culture of supporting one another and celebrating both the big and small wins makes me proud to call Davidson home."
Maya R.
Psychology
"My favorite class focused on both identifying and telling hard truths, particularly in journalism. Each class period was incredibly captivating and encouraged me to critically think about notions I hadn't thought of before. It was wonderful to be excited about a class outside of my major and learn about concepts that can be applied to everyday life."
